BioFuture is an exhibition organized by ADAF (Athens Digital Arts Festival) in colaboration with the Department of Biological Applications and Technology of the School of Health Sciences and Department of Fine Arts and Arts Sciences of the School of Fine Arts (University of Ioannina).
Predecessor of bioart inspired work, Melder is a document of an improvised sound installation that deals with audio periodic biological functions. The pulse and the breath, two natural and repetitive elements take over the space. Melder (a made up word that derives from merge) expresses the human existence that keeps a track on the continuous historical axis of evolution. This notion forms an organism that interacts with and merges energies on an experimental basis. Whether heading back or forth, or whether being delayed or accelerated, the urge to carry on and overcome obstacles is dominant in nature. It is the dimension of continuity where the principles of life are primarily based on.
